About

In 2008 I left the country to join Peace Corps. In 2010 I returned for a brief amount of time and then left again for Tajikistan volunteering with Kiva.org. Upon my return I was constantly hounded by the question “what is the biggest difference in your life now that you’ve returned?”

At first it was how much people complained about things that didn’t matter. I had been in places where running hot water was not just a luxury but a fantasy, so complaining about getting your shoes slightly wet didn’t seem to matter any more. Then I realized I was far more thankful for things in my life, and wrote a brief account at the time. But I kept seeing things I was thankful of, and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to remember all these things and share them with anyone who might want to find something to be thankful of.

And so, I started this blog.

I update it three days a week of things to be thankful of, from the big to the seemingly mundane since all give us something that we should be thankful for.
